Max on the Air

Jennifer Government This is what they should do with all my radio interviews: take the small number of clear, semi-intelligent things I say, dump everything else, and mix them up with some boppy background music. Australia’s SBS radio has condensed 40 minutes of me rambling on about Jennifer Government, corporations, and culture into a quick, breezy audio piece you can download from their website (or here).

My least favorite part is when I read from the book. I’m really bad at that. I should hire that guy who does the audio version to come around with me; I could stand there and nod approvingly while he reads. That would be cool.

Thanks for the link to the clip. From your writings, I had imagined your voice would sound like Rob Corddry (of "The Daily Show" fame). :0)

Your accent is so hilariously Austrailian.

I know... for some reason I think everyone here expected you to sound different. As did I...

Weird, maybe I just haven't been exposed to an Australian.
(I'm going to pretend that didn't sound sexual...)

Max should call up Mark Brunette and do the Austrailian version of The Apprentice
=)

He sounds a lot more mature than I thought he would... I have no idea why, now that I think of it. Good interview!

The music kinda sucked, but overall it was kind of cool. Though I think you spoke too fast some times max.

Was I the only one who thought that when it first started it was a radio ad? It sounded like it was advertising something with all that wacky radio music and whatnot...

Yea I thought you sounded a tad nervous. You're a funny guy; I expected a bit more character to the story telling.

I have to agree with Daniel...somehow I expected a erm...less "mature" voice. I dunno, higher pitched or something...you sound like someone with a beard for some reason Max!

The music is really silly. Great interview in general though :)

Yeah, you sound like someone with a mustache and a goatee. Oh yes, and an earring and a red top hat. Ya know? :->

I was expecting it to be more "Americanized"

I loved that interview. Well, it wasn't really an interview in the traditional sense, I don't think, as it is more Max talking with occasional comments from the "interviewer." There weren't really that many questions.

I didn't get why there were those weird sound effects though...

I didn't think he sounded very australian, maybe it's because the british notice it less than americans...
Anyway, I agree the interview sounded unexpectedly mature:)
