Machine Man (serial)

I was left alone in the medical room. It was just me, a bed, and a vinyl floor with some disturbing stains. To be honest, I was surprised about the state of this room. Compared to the rest of the company, it was third world. I guess it said something about our priorities. We were not healers.

The door was locked. At least, I assumed it was. I couldn’t bring myself to drag my body off the bed and across the floor to check. I was missing my legs. I was missing my legs. I felt wrong without them. It was a terrible injustice, that people could take them away from me. Sitting in that room, half a man, I vowed never to let anyone do that again.

Bit of a disconnect there, hey Max? End of pg 44 Cassandra is in the room questioning him, and next second he's "left alone"? I'm all for cliffhangers, just seemed unexpected to have her leave that quickly.

interesting that he took off the legs, but only removed some of his fingers.. no idea why that just occurred to me. probebly the disturbing stains made me think.

now that im aware of my thinking, it gave me a thought.. what about 'enhanced' thinking. like the maths co-processor of old. or replace eyesight with a visor from tng! (i was going to use a m:tg character class, but I think geordi works better here). continuing the star trek theme i've put myself into, maybe a conversion into something like the binars and borg combined!

that or legs that cook bacon at a single thought. i'd buy 3 pairs! :)

OMG I'm admired or whatever by max now! I had been so broke I couldn't buy the stream earlier and I was so down about it my gf just went and did it for me as a birthday present :) Awesome :)

this page give me the feeling that a turning point has been reached...until now, our narrator has been more of a man-machine...but I think he's really going to go all out and become the "machine-man" that is, more machine than man...

I'm a bit disappointed in him that he's not thinking about Lola's metal heart and what it could mean. But after all he is a bit narcistic/self-absorbed..but isn't Lola supposed to be his great love?
